Throughout my photography career, I have just loved the times I was able to teach occasional college photography classes and equip fellow photographers with the knowledge and skills they needed to excel! However, for one reason or another, it was just never the right time to publicly offer mentorships. Since we've been in Senegal, West Africa, I've found myself in the unique season where I'm available to do so and have the time to dedicate to see you grow and thrive in whatever level of photography you're currently in.
You may have gotten a nice new camera recently and don't know where to begin. You may be in a dry season of photography and everything you do feels "blah" or unoriginal or frustrating. Or maybe you're wanting to pick up that old film camera and finally learn to shoot film (yes, please!). Or you're burnt out on editing and need help figuring out your style or why those green color casts are driving you biserko and you don't know why it's happening in the first place. Maybe you're struggling with lighting and posing or attracting the kind of clients you want to book you.
I get it! I can name all of these issues because I have been through each of those scenarios myself at different points throughout the last 9 years. And I used to struggle with the fact that photography (or art in general) didn't always come naturally. What I didn't realize is that it's often not about your natural talent. It's about growth. And I was too scared in the beginning to ask questions.
